About Me
Hi, My name is Carolyn, I live in Cheshire with my husband, five children and keep a small number of mini lops, they are primarily much loved pets and my does enjoy having the occasional litter.
I decided to breed mini lops after initially buying a couple as pets, many years ago and completely fell in love with them. After researching the breed a little more I realised how interesting breeding mini lops really is. It is so much more complicated than I could have imagined and much more interesting too. I was then hooked! I have a keen interest in colour genetics and find it really useful having this knowledge to implement in my breeding.
I am a hobby breeder and strive to breed my rabbits for good temperament and will always try to closely adhere to the BRC mini lops standard. I breed for my own enjoyment and the personal interest I have in improving the type of the breed.
All my rabbits are first and foremost, pets and are treated as such. Each and every rabbit is handled every day has regular exercise and is loved and shown affection. I do not over breed my does. I will occasionally have kits for sale that I will list under the "for sale" page, I normally want to keep them all! but unfortunately this isn't always possible :( I do find it hard to let them go after seeing them grow from newborn babies.
I will not let any kits go till they are at least 8 -10 weeks old and If I still feel they aren't ready to leave mum at this time, I will keep them a little longer until I feel they are stronger and more independent. (Please do not ask me to let babies leave here before they are eight weeks old.)
I have recently started breeding again on a small scale after cutting down a few months ago. I found that I missed it too much! I will be breeding mainly choc based oranges, fawn's and chocolate tort in solid and butterfly, although, there will always be other colours that will " pop" out from time to time.
I now also offer holiday boarding for anyone who is stuggling to find care for their pets while they are away. I have recently purchased some new hutches and have the facility to accomodate small to medium sized rabbits/ guinea pigs and also two rabbits that share a hutch in my 4ft, 6ft and 8ft sized hutches!
Many thanks for reading!
